Party Pregnancy

Once you know you are pregnant the next big question is always how long before everyone can tell. Thankfully we get some time before our tummy gives it away!

Pregnancies are counted from the first day of your last period. So the day you didn’t get your period you were already four weeks pregnant. Because the counting starts from the beginning of your cycle and not from the date of intercourse it can be a bit confusing.

Essentially if you had sex only once and got pregnant you were already two weeks pregnant when you had intercourse.

Most girls don’t show at all up to eight weeks pregnant. During that time they will feel tired and weird. Their chest will be sore. But nothing in their appearance will give away the pregnancy.

From eight weeks to twelve weeks your tummy will start to grow. It won’t be enough for anyone to really notice except you. Standing naked or in a swimsuit you will be able to see a small bump below your belly button. This will slowly get larger.

Up to 12 weeks is easy to hide the little bump with your regular clothes. You will feel yourself full inside. And, you will notice your pants getting snug. Up to 12 weeks almost all of your pregnancy is something you feel internally. If you are unlucky enough to have strong morning sickness, people may suspect pregnancy based on your upset stomach. There will be no outward signs to confirm their suspicion.

Starting around 12 weeks if you wear a tight shirt people will tend to look at your tummy. Most aren’t sure if you are pregnant or just fat at that point. The assumption is always pregnant but only close friends will usually ask. Everyone else is nervous it may just be fat and doesn’t want to risk being embarrassed by asking.

Wearing a loose t-shirt or sweater can easily hide your bump until about 16 weeks. By that point it will be hard or impossible to do up your pants. You will by then have a very visible bump. A really loose sweater will still disguise it some but it will be impossible to hide all the time. When you turn to the side or the wind blows your sweater there will be an unmistakable outline of a bump under it. It’s just a matter of time until your secret is out.

Most girls give up on hiding their baby bump by 16 weeks and go back to shirts that are comfy. They show the bump clearly. But by that point there is no worry about trying hide. Most girls have already made a decision about their pregnancy by 16 weeks. Those who are staying pregnant are excited to let the bump show.

As you can see, from the time you find out you are pregnant it’s at least two months before anyone else has to know. That’s plenty of time to decide what you want to do and make plans to either continue or terminate your pregnancy.

If you chose to terminate, it will be done before you start to show. No one will ever know you were pregnant unless you tell them.
